Struggling this year to maintain focus on a single impact or concept, I am changing direction and taking a different approach to the 70 Days Project.
My goal will be to maintain continuity through the years. This will be a place of context where I will combine my love of learning and research with continuous improvement. As a place to understand how a single issue today has a past, present and future impact, I will strive to maintain context for my decision-making, always remembering the impact of 9/11 and other such events.
Why? Most notably, in a meeting with a Nebraska state senator last year on what would become the fluoride bill LB1387, I suggested that public water fluoridation be considered within it’s larger, historical context. The senator emphasized how giving context was not good and that legislation must be focused and single issue. That seems to be how the legislative game is played. This forum will strive to be a source for why context matters.
